Comet Car Rental (Pty) Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Comet") rents to the renter subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. At the place and on the date specified, the renter shall return the vehicle together with all its accessories in the same condition as when received, fair wear and tear excepted.

2. The renter shall pay Comet on demand all charges due under the agreement at the tariff in force at that time the contract is entered into and acknowledges liability for all fuel consumed during rental

3. The vehicle shall not be used or driven:
a) In contravention of any law,
b) For the conveyance of persons or property for hire,
c) In any speed test, race or contest,
d) By any person under 23 years of age or who has not possessed a valid, unendorsed licence for a minimum of 2 years,
e) By any person who has given Comet false information, and
f) Beyond the borders of South Africa unless prior written consent is obtained.

4. Comet shall not be responsible for the loss or damage to any property left or transported in or upon the vehicle.

5. Comet has insured the vehicle and the renter shall be entitled to the benefits of said insurance against accident damage and theft of the rented vehicle PROVIDED THAT the renter has signed for "CDW & TLW Cover", thereby agreeing to pay the additional fee as detailed in the rate brochure published by Comet. Damage caused by reckless or negligent driving as well as failure to report theft or damage to Comet, is specifically excluded. Other exclusions are tyres,hubcaps,windscreen and undercarriage damage.

6. CDW & TLW Cover is compulsory for all rentals and can only be declined if the renter provides written proof of full comprehensive cover before the rental.

7. The renter is at all times responsible for the first amount of any claim up to the excess referred to in the current rate brochure.
